In 2016 a tagged western Monarch Butterfly, named "Journey" set a migration record and now there's a wonderful new book published about his story.
This book about a monarch that was tagged and released in 2016, and set a record for a tagged butterfly being released in Oregon, USA. The story and the book has been followed by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, who are helping to get the word out.
The book, Journey's Flight, is available world-wide on amazon.com.
There's a facebook page, Journey's Flight, where you can learn more about what is being done.
All profits from the book go to Sisters Middle School's butterfly project, which supports their way-station and education program. They have a supportive group of sponsors, from local business, which is wonderful to see.
AND - they're having a publishing party on September 16th 2017.

I was honoured and delighted to be contacted by Sisters Middle School, telling me about this wonderful happening. I wish I could be at the Book Publishing Party, so I hope it goes really well.
This initiative shows how each of us can make a difference to Monarch Butterflies.
Every single effort contributes to the greater effort, and is a magnificent achievement.
Congratulations to you all.
Below are two of the students' illustrations in the book.
