When we arrived home at 10.00pm a male Monarch butterfly flew to greet us at the door.
Yes, I had also overlooked closing the flap to the caterpillar castle, so the two Monarchs had emerged from their chrysalis's and gone walkabout, and were happily flying around inside our house. What fun.
This morning it was fine and sunny, so I took them outside early and off they both flew to their butterfly lives.
Not before we had taken a few photos, of course. Aren't they just beautiful?
P.S. Take a look at the second photo, below, just above the butterfly's head. It seems a little flying insect tried to photo bomb.
