She did everything right. She slid out of her chrysalis neatly and well. She slid her proboscis in and out to ensure that the two halves joined up (the proboscis is in two halves when the butterfly emerges and so they need to 'zip' it together before they can feed).
Our weather is warm, at the moment, and so her wings dried quickly and she was soon very perky and showing signs of being ready to fly.
I placed her outside on a Mexcian Sunflower and, after about 10 minutes, she flew off to begin her butterfly life.
