During Winter, while our butterflies are taking time out, I track through forest paths photographing fungi.
It's a bit early for fungi in our hot dry area of the country as yet, nevertheless I was hopeful because we have had a bit of rain recently. One thing I've not seen a lot of during Summer is butterflies (disappointing really).
So off we went to our favourite forest track. You'll never guess what the first things I saw were, even before going into the forest - Long-tailed Blue Butterflies (Lampides boeticus)!!!
When I'm presented with such a choice: fungi or butterflies...butterflies win every time.
Of course I had the wrong camera with me for butterflies, nevertheless I sat where they were and waited for them to come around.
